A moment of recognition, 25 years of the World Wide Web

Who would have ever imagined that 140 characters would be the standard code for sending a twitter message? Sure the authors of my college AP Style writing guide didn't think past a sidebar.  Thanks to technology we are able to communicate instantly, no matter how far away a person maybe.  Human connection is key, and although we have the world wide web if it was not able to connect all the people and business's together it would serve as a useless tool, and sure the billion or so people would not even be interested.

Recently, some of social media's top industry professionals gathered at the University of the District of Columbia for "When the Press Link Up" social media conference with a purpose to share, network, and learn new techniques of creating compelling content.  Along with the goal to provide a book scholarship to a deserving Arts and Humanities student attend UDC as well as aide Teach for Madagascar nonprofit education program.  After a few copyright notices, we are now cleared and can show the amazing content from "When the Press Link Up" social media conference 2016.

The excitement doesn't stop here!  Students attending the University of the District of Columbia, College of Arts & Humanities can apply for the $500 book scholarship by submitting a one page essay via email to whenthepresslinkup@gmail.com answering the following questions: If you could be a digital media pioneer which application would you develop and why? or "How would you leverage social media in 2017?"  Scholarship submission deadline is September 17, 2016. Good luck and may the best creative content win!!!!
